Community Grant & Viking Promise Programs Eligibility Appeal


Appeal Description: The West Valley Community Grant/Viking Promise Programs Eligibility Appeal is available for students who did not meet eligibility requirements or have a special circumstance beyond their control.

Below is a list of examples of circumstances we may consider:

  • You experienced a leave of absence due to illness or other circumstances.
  • You are enrolled in your last semester and require less than 12 units to graduate.

Procedures for Appeal

  • Submit your Appeal along with any supporting documentation to the WVC Financial Aid Office via this online form. 
  • Appeals must include an explanation of the contributing factors, documentation of those circumstances, and must outline corrective or preventative measures to ensure requirement completion in the future.
  • All Appeals will be reviewed by the WVC Community Grant/Viking Promise Appeals Committee. The student will be notified of the decision by email. The decision of the Committee is final. 
  • No in-person appeals will be considered.
  • Appeals are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
